Urban Moto Jam Part 2
do the thing that makes you uncomfortable
i haven't been playing my horn much, but made myself go to the 2nd installment of Rob Miller's moto jam despite the lack of confidence. per usual i had a great time. felt more comfortable on the horn, likely bc i had Claude generate some chord changes for everyone that went along with the sheet music i use. someone performed mustang sally, and i remembered some of the accompanyment parts from playing it in high school. it was one of those moments where the sax was adding alot of energy into the song and brought up the vibe. imagine what a horn section (trumpet, trombones) would have done.
Rob did a few songs that he wrote. Creating a song is one thing, but performing it for the world to see a window into your heart takes a special courage and comfort with your own humanity. Its always an honor to get to be in those spaces.
per usual.. a treat to get to play with the great Lee Harbaugh. I gotta find some musicians to regularly play bc its the only way to get better.
big shoutout to the hype man! you were def encouraging.
